Processes

Processes

The processing area is located in a factory adjacent to the wharf where the vessels berth.   The fish is stored in bins which have been generously layered with ice to maintain quality and these bins are quickly unloaded from the vessels into a covered truck and transported to the indoor fish reception area at the factory, 5 minutes drive.   The fish bins are unloaded, weighed and moved into the chiller ready for processing according to seasonality and customer requirements.

Packaging

Packaging

The Company prides itself in its ability to deliver a high quality product to its customers and this is achieved by adhering to strict guidelines with packaging specifications per species.

Fresh chilled product, depending on processed state, is layer packed into a 10 kg polybin with icepacks to maintain chilled temperature.  Some species may require to be individually bagged or packed in a specific way to ensure premium quality maintained.

Frozen product is shatterpacked in either 2.5kg, 5kg or 10kg cartons which are lidded, strapped and date coded.  500 gm and 1 kg free flow packages are available for all species.  Product is blast frozen to a minimum temperature of -20 degrees Celsius.
